“xenoscape” Oil on canvas 60”x24” 2006 Collaboration with @guyaitchisonart It’s hard to believe we made this one so long ago… I found some of the pics of the preparatory work we did for this massive project… sculpted the entire foreground with clay and lit it up with a couple different light sources so we could really nail the lighting for this… I learned so much about how light and shadow describe form by doing this sort of thing for a few projects, and by doing this I’m able to get it a lot closer to “correct” when I don’t go to these lengths…I’ve been asked a few times recently how I’m able to achieve some of the effects that I create in my work and I can honestly say, with documentation… that it’s just alot of preparation… I look forward to tbe next project guy and I have up our sleeves…
